Advice for Leaders
General
I have always supported and fostered a "principle – centred" leadership style, based on mutual trust and respect, setting a vision or purpose for Kiama Council and building a team to deliver.
Personal
- Honour your commitments – If you say you are going to be there then do so.
- Embrace your femineity – Women contribute greatly to debate and policy of local government. By just going about their daily lives they become the greatest users of public infrastructure services eg. Childcare. They are also the social connectors in our communities. Women need to embrace these skills and use them to their advantage.
- Think positive, take risks and help and support others any way you can.
- Increase self esteem and confidence through education and develop habits for life long learning.
